Giving > Receiving

Hello all. (:

First off, I want to thank rhiannaresolution for suggesting my picture! I was so happy when I saw that it was photo of the day. I still am. :D Thank you everyone who has been commenting/buzzing my photos. I really appreciate it!! (I don't know why, but it won't let me upload the screen shot I took of the photo of the day, so here's the photo)

The holidays are coming up! Who is excited as I am!? I love this time of year. Everyone is so happy. I personally like giving gifts than recieiving them. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy getting presents. It's awesome. I guess its the personal sastification that I made someone else happy. :D

SO BUZZNET. I was thinking about sending out holiday cards with a friendship bracelet, candy, and other goodies. If you would like a one of kind Jenny Dang card, message me your address. Don't worry. I'm not a creepy pedafile.. PROMISE. Haha.

I will probably give out 2 bracelets. A friendship (candy strip, braided, arrowhead, etc) one and one of these rubber animal bracelets. Maybe it's just me, but aren't they the coolest thing ever?! They have dinosaurs, farm animals, sea animals, land animals, etc. If you would like a bracelet, tell me your favorite colors! :)

Peacee,

<3Jenny

Push Pause.

Helllooo Buzzneters,

I'm not sure why, but Buzznet isn't letting me upload pictures. It takes forever to load. :( So until I figure out how to fix it, Welcome To My Life and Love Creates Dreams Aparrel are on hold. Sorry! If anyone can help me out, it will be greatly appreciated. :D

Speaking of Love Creates Dreams (Follow me on Twitter @LoveCreateDream! Yes, I'm aware that Create and Dream are missing an s. The username exceeded the maxium charachter count. Boooo.), I want to thank everyone who has supported me with this clothing line! It means the world to me. :) I just finished designing the dinosaur shirt (Credit goes to Macy. Go add boysdontcry14). I'm currently working on a website so you guys can order some shirts. I need to get a job because I have to pay $10 a month for the website. :( I'll let you guys know when the website is up and running - hopefully in a couple weeks. I was thinking that shirts would be $20 and $5 from each shirt will be donated to a charity/organization of your choice. Is $20 too much? Is $15 better? GIMME FEEDBACK. :D

This is how I feel about Buzznet not letting me upload pictures. Lmfao. Okay, not really. This was taken a long time ago when Harrison (Currently 12) was 3 years old. I think? We were at VA Beach and he was terrified of the water. This picture makes me laugh so much. It's crazy how fast I've grown up and watched my siblings grow up. Oh gosh, I remember the days when Harrison's favorite color was purple and how he loved to play house with me. In preschool everything he drew inlcuded the color purple. Seriously. (Shhh. Don't tell anyone! He'll beat me up. :P) Now, he's growing up, taller than me, and love sports. I think he would go crazy if he wasn't playing sports. Everytime I mention that his favorite color used to be purple, he just gives me a stfu look. Haha. It's great.

This weekend has been pretty boring for me. I had to read All Quiet On the Western Front for English. I actually hated the book at first because it seemed like a "boy" book, but it's one of my favorite's now. The book was written by a German solider who survived the war. It's about a 19 year old guy who fights in the Germany army on the French front during World War 1. He sees his best friends being blown up, innocent people being killed, and other events he thought he would never see. Paul, the main charachter faces starvation, death, and violence every day. Anyway, read the book when you get the chance! It's so good.

I had to clean the whole house today because my cousins are coming up for Thanksgiving. I'm so excited for Thanksgiving. It's one of my top 5 favorite holidays. Everyone is in a good mood and you can eat as much as you want. Seriously, what can be better than that? Family + Good food = Fun times. I'm so thankful for my family/friends, life, and the people I've met. That includes everyone I have met on Buzznet and became friends with. You guys are the best!! Each year, my family has a game of mud football. It's so intense and alot of fun. My favorite foods to eat are the mashed potatoes, corn, and apple pie with vanilla icecream. I'm not a fan of pumpkin pie.. It's just so.. mushy.. Haha.

What are you doing for Thanksgiving? What are you thankful for?

This Providence

The first time I heard of This Providence, I was at the Ludo, Sing It Loud, and The Morning Light show back in February.  When they came on stage with their long dark hair and black skinny jeans, I thought Oh, great. Another pop/punk band with boring lyrics about girls and drinking. I was completely wrong. They opened up with A Wolf In Sheep's Clothing. I quickly picked up the chorus, sang along at the top of my lungs, and danced the whole time. It was the most fun I've had at a show. Their set was my favorite that night.

Dan Young: Vocals/Guitar

Gavin Phillips: Guitar

David Blaise: Bass

Andy Horst: Drums

Label: Fueled By Ramen

Hailing from Seattle, Washington, This Providence, a Christian indie/rock band has received over 3 million plays on Myspace, released 3 albums and an EP within 6 years, and toured with numerous bands. I wasn't surprised when I discovered that they were considered a Christian band. Not all, but the majority of This Providence songs are about God. Listeners know that this band puts all their heart and soul into the music, whether it's writing songs or performing them live. Each song is catchy and just plain honest.

This Providence has shared the stage with The Cab, Copeland, Paramore, Sing It Loud, All Time Low, The Morning Light (RIP :'( ), Relient K, Brighten, Ludo, The Hush Sound, and many more. Over the Summer, they toured with Hey Monday, The Friday Night Boys, Stereo Skyline, and The Bigger Lights. This Fall, they will be touring with Cartel, The Summer Set, and Runner Runner.

Daniel Young (vocals) and Gavin Phillips (guitar) started This Providence in 2003. After graduating high school, This Providence worked with Seattle-based Rocketstar Recordings and released their debut full-length record, Our Worlds Divorce.

The quartet was signed to Fueled By Ramen in early 2006. They released their self-titled full-length Sophomore album in September 2006.

The opening track, A Wolf In Sheep's Clothing, is clearly about Satan. Young is telling us to stop giving in and stand against the devil."I've had enough of your games. If you're not trembling, you'd better be, because we're gonna be the end of you. I'm gonna show them who you really are. And I can tell you right now, it won't be pretty / You held me down for so long, but it's not gonna last, because I can see right through your beautiful eyes."

Last October, the band released an EP titled The Bright Lights EP. This past March, they released their third album Who Are You Now? Compared to their self-titled album, Who Are You Now? shows how they developed their own sound and how they've grown as musicians.

Who Are You Now was recorded with Matt Squire (All Time Low, Boys Like Girls, Panic! At The Disco). Oscary Wilde's, The Picture of Dorian Gray inspired Young to write a short story, which led him to write the 13 tracks of Who Are You Now?. This album is a collection of mostly rock songs with the occasional acoustic, slower songs.

Squeaking Wheels and White Light, the renovated version of My Beautiful Rescue, and Playing the Villian tend to be crowd pleasers. They have amazing lyrics and a fun, great beat that makes everyone want to dance. Chasing the Wind is the one of the acoustic songs that starts out mellow and gradually gets more powerful. My personal favorite is Sand In Your Shoes. Every since I heard Dan sing it back in February, I've been hooked. I can't go a day without listening to them.

Moral of the story? Don't judge a band on their looks. Even if they look like your typical pop/rock band. You will never know if their music could change your life if you don't give them a chance. I love that This Providence isn't afraid to share their message about God. Their talent definitely won't hold them back - making their future very bright.

Current Obsessions 8

1. Cartel

I've been in love with Cartel since I heard The Fortunate. I love every single song Cartel has ever put out - from Wasted to Save Us. I saw them in July with All Time Low and it was one of the best shows I've been too. Cycles was released last month. I love every single track. Each one is just as good as the track before. Some of my favorites are Only You and It Still Remains. Throughout this month, Cartel will be touring with This Providence and The Summer Set. In December, they will be playing with Motion City Soundtrack and Say Anything at different shows.

2. Erik Hassle

"It's music about things you think of when you're going to sleep..." Sweden pop/soul artist, Erik Hassle is signed to Island and Universial Republic Records. His first single Hurtful has made its way onto the the Swedish and U.K. charts. Although, his entire album hasn't been released, you can listen to some of his songs on his myspace. My favorite is Don't Bring Flowers.

3. Nothing But Shoes

GUYS GUYS GUYS. WE HAVE A BAND AMONG THE BUZZNET FAMILY!!! First, add Katie's Buzznet then check out her band, Nothing But Shoes. It's kinda quiet since they recorded it on their own, but other than that it sounds pretty good. If you like Blink 182, Paramore, All Time Low, The Ramones, New Found Glory, and the old Fall Out Boy, give them a listen. I'm in love with One Way. Keep up the great work Katie and best of luck! :D

4. Callahan

Hailing from Ohio, members of Callahan have been best friends since childhood. If you like The Bigger Lights or Red Car Wire, check out Callahan! They have recieved positive reviews from The Daily Chorus, Purevolume, AP Magazine, Fearless Radio, Absolute Punk, and many more. Listen to The Dive, Dress to Impress, This One For the History Books, and Face the Day.

5. We Are Birds

VS.

We Are Birds is one of my favorite Brighten songs. Today, someone sent me a link of Mindy White's cover. I didn't even know she could sing.. :O Haha. Her voice is so pretty! I'm not really sure which version I like more.. They are both equally amazing. Listen here. Which version do you perfer?

Are you obsessed yet?

Is Every Avenue's New Album Picture Perfect?

The countdown is officialy over. Picture Perfect is finally out! Have you bought the record yet? DO IT NOW - so you can listen to it while reading about it's amazing-ness. I have had it on repeat since last night. Not kidding. Because I don't have school today, I might as well write my first album review ever. Shall we?

Just a year and a half ago, Every Avenue released their debut album, Shh. Just Go With It, under Fearless Records. Every Avenue has sold over 20,000 copies and toured all over the world. Anyone who has seen them live knows that they have a deep passion for music and always put their all in what they do, making their sets energetic and fun. Words couldn't really describe how excited I was when I found out that they were recording a new album, which also happens to be the Sophmore release. I'll admit that I was kind of nervous. Many bands have been labeled as a "Sophmore Slump" after releasing their second album. Meaning that the second album failed to live up to the standards of the first album. Every Avenue's Picture Perfect is everything but a "Sophmore Slump".

Track Listing:
1. For Always, Forever
2. Mindset
3. Tell Me I'm A Wreck
4. Picture Perfect
5. Happy The Hard Way
6. Girl Like That
7. Saying Goodbye
8. Finish What You Started
9. I Forgive You
10. The Story Left Untold

11. Clumsy Little Heart

The opening track, "For Always, Forever",  has very descripitive lyrics, painting a picture in listener's heads. The catchy beats and references of growing up in Michigan makes this song easy to relate too.

"The Story Left Untold", and "Happy The Hard Way" are the slower, softer songs - similar to "Between You and I" from Shh. Just Go With It.

Although Every Avenue is starting to develop their own sound, songs like "Mindset", "Tell Me I'm A Wreck", and "Saying Goodbye" reminds listeners of the songs from their debut album.

"Finish What You Started" and "I Forgive You" are somewhat predictable songs, but still good. Listening to the rifts and guitar solo in the last and final track, "Clumsy Little Heart" still amazes me.

Compared to Shh. Just Go With It, Every Avenue has definitely developed their own sound and matured as musicians  by using different time, key changes, and using everyones voice ("Girl Like That" at 2:15) while sticking to the pop-rock style. Each song still has the catchy hooks, rifts, and choruses that Every Avenue is known for. Kudos for Mitch Allen (Jonas Brothers, Faith Hill) and Mike Green ((Paramore, Breathe Carolina, Set Your Goals), who produced this record.

So there you go. My first album review. Picture Perfect isn't just another pop punk release, but an excellent, solid sophmore effort. There is not one song I don't like. The record is definitely worth buying so go buy it! It's on sale for $7.99 at Target until November 18. It's worth every penny you pay for.

All Time Low No Longer Signed To Hopeless Records?

Oh rumors rumors and more rumors. Is All Time Low signed to Interscope Records? According to this video, Alex Gaskarth confirms that they are. Nothing Personal is still and will be on Hopeless Records. The next record will be released on Interscope.

Source

Anyone else notice that there are only 2 comments and not that many views? You would think that there would be thousands of comments. Some defending their favorite band saying that they aren't selling out and others saying"LYK ZOMG ATL R BECOMING S3LL 0UT$!!!"

"Good Charlotte's Benji Madden told Billboard the group is shooting for a fall release for its next Epic album. Expect "more straightforward rock, maybe taking it back to our first or second record," he said. Madden is especially psyched for the song "Love Ain't Easy," which he promises is "really catchy. We love the catchy hooks." Good Charlotte may tour later this year with new Interscope band All Time Low, whose frontman, Alex Garskath, joined Madden on the red carpet." (Source)

I checked the artists under Interscope and All Time Low wasn't listed..? Some say they are selling out. Others disagree. I think that people confuse the terms selling out and becoming more popular/maintstream. As long as the bad stays in it for the passion for music and don't become consumed with money and fame, they aren't selling out. I'm not necessarily saying that All Time Low are or aren't selling out.

What do you think of the different record label? Is All Time Low becoming a sell out?
